How does our work matter?
Contribute a story and earn a digital badge!

The theme of our 2017 conference is Defining What Matters, and one of the guiding questions is “How do we gather evidence of our impact on the work of our faculty clients?” As a response, we invite conference attendees to contribute a story that illustrates one way in which our work in educational development matters.
Rather than an essay, we’re asking for a story about yourself, a colleague back home, a speaker at the conference, or another educational developer. The content might have to do with orienting new faculty, working with adjuncts, preparing future faculty, addressing diversity, or another issue.
Here’s how it works:
- Write a story (150-400 words) – Relate a series of events along these lines: at first someone faced a challenge, then a POD Network member helped, and finally things improved. Your story can relate directly to a POD Network activity, but that’s not necessary.
- Email your story -Send it to the email address listed at tinyurl.com/podbadgeinfo
- Share our work – Everyone who contributes a story will earn a digital badge that can be added to an email signature or website (we’ll show you how).
Curious viewers will click the badge and be sent to our collection of stories, where they will learn how educational development matters. Your individual anecdote may seem modest, but we hope that the collection of stories will form a powerful picture that serves as a basis for reflection, writing, and research.
