This interactive workshop models the use of guided notes as learning supports in developing faculty professional development programming. Drawing from the evidence of the value of guided notes to support student learning, this session explores developing programming centering faculty-as-student, and how that supports adaption and adoption of teaching practices. This workshop overviews how guided notes were developed for specific scholarly texts and pointed reflection, in response to faculty and institutional culture. Subsequently faculty utilizing supports affirmed intent to adapt or adopt instructional practices which was confirmed by follow up surveys of faculty participants. Participants will be provided a graphic organizer to support personalized engagement with session elements. This workshop will help educational developers reflect on adapting and adopting this practice within their own spaces.
