The complex and ever-changing nature of the field of educational development has led to a scholarship of educational development (SoED) that is rich but also enigmatic. In this interactive session, participants will navigate between and among four lenses through which SoED might be viewed—as a Scholarship of Practice, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Development, Scholarship of Critical Educational Development, and Scholarship of Organizational Development—ultimately looking to a vision of SoED that encompasses all of these aspects and is grounded in a distinctive form of scholarly and disciplinary dexterity. By working together to cultivate such dexterity, participants will be able to imagine and work toward a more inclusive scholarly community and explore meaningful questions that advance SoED as a field of study.
