The Call for Applications is now closed.

The 2025 Adjunct/Part-time Faculty Special Interest Group (SIG) POD Conference Scholarship seeks to increase participation in the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD Network) among individuals who are currently:

  1. Adjunct/part-time faculty who want to become educational developers
  2. Adjunct/part-time faculty who are currently educational developers
  3. Educational developers who want to provide support for adjunct/part-time faculty
  4. Educational developers who currently provide support for adjunct/part-time faculty

Five (5) individuals will be awarded a scholarship that includes POD Network membership, conference registration, and financial assistance for travel to attend the 2025 POD Network Conference, which will be held in-person November 20–23, 2025, in San Diego, California.

We recognize that all individuals have multiple and intersecting identities. Adjunct faculty—also known as contingent or part-time faculty—are a diverse population that includes professionals, retirees, and those who teach exclusively across institutions. This scholarship aims to elevate their voices and support their involvement in the field of educational development.

How to Apply

Please complete the application: 2025 POD Adjunct/Part-time Faculty SIG Scholarship Application by August 31, 2025.

Application Guidelines: Anonymous Review Process

To ensure fairness and objectivity, please anonymize your narrative responses by omitting your name and institution. Your name will be collected separately at the top of the application form.

Awardees will be notified by October 1, 2025.

Scholarship Details & Requirements

Each scholarship will cover:

  • One-year POD Network membership
  • POD Network Conference registration
  • Up to $1800 in travel assistance for attending the 2025 conference in San Diego

Awardees are expected to:

  • Attend the Adjunct SIG meetings before and after the conference
  • Complete a post-conference survey
  • Share a brief reflection on their experience during the Adjunct SIG quarterly meeting following the conference

If the work supported by this scholarship is presented or published, please acknowledge the POD Network with the following statement:
“This material is based upon work supported by the POD Network, 2025–2026.”

Purpose

The adjunct faculty travel grant pays for POD Conference fees (travel, registration, and one-year membership) and is evaluated/ranked according to:

  • Impact of attending conferences on applicant’s goals in working with adjunct/part-time faculty
  • Dissemination strategy for information gained from conference attendance
  • Willingness to present at SIG meetings or be involved in the SIG
