The INFD will take place July 29–August 2, 2019, at the UNCG campus with hotel accommodations at the Marriott Greensboro Downtown.

The POD Network sponsors the Institute to mentor new practitioners and facilitates excellence in practice among its members. The primary audience is persons in the early years of educational development roles.

2019 theme: Inclusive Critical Practice

The time is now to look at our inclusive future. The 2019 INFD encompasses the history of the field of educational development in higher education with a focus on our inclusive future. Participants will attend sessions on Emerging Inclusive Practice, Emerging Technology, Emerging Best Practices, and “How To” for practical application. Each session is geared at building skills in educational development from consulting to event planning and beyond.

Participants will develop a program action plan with the support of seasoned educational developers, have the opportunity to network with colleagues, create mentoring relationships with dedicated practitioners, and reflect on their own critical practice.

The event ends with a reception at the International Civil Rights Museum, home of the first Woolworth Sit-ins.
