Friday, April 30 Registration Deadline

Happy Spring! As we continue to work with faculty and students in these unprecedented times, the Professional Development Committee (PDC) encourages everyone to remember the importance of self-care, as well as making time for professional development and personal growth. To that end, we wanted to let you know that we are inviting members to indicate their interest to join a POD Connects! group, which offers a great opportunity to connect with colleagues at other institutions in small groups to support one another. We hope you will take advantage of this valuable membership benefit.

What is POD Connects?

POD Connects! places people into small groups of colleagues (4-5) who commit to meeting at regular intervals to advance their professional goals and well-being. Members of the group provide each other with accountability toward their individual goals, and share ideas and resources. The groups can also provide members with emotional support and create a sense of community.

We currently offer focus options based on Career Stage (early, mid, or late) or interest in the Scholarship of Educational Development (SoED). We envision that participants in these topic based POD Connects! groups will share ideas and strategies with each with the goal of general growth and knowledge in these areas, which could potentially feed into interaction with/participation in related POD committees. We recommend setting a 6-12 month goal for the group and revisiting if members would like to continue beyond that timeline.

How can I register?

To register to be placed in a connections group, visit the POD Connects! Webpage. (NOTE: This webpage on the POD Network website and requires logging in with your POD credentials).

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to the POD Connects! subcommittee at [email protected].
